Trivia: What is a Sticky notes?

A yellow Post-it note is a piece of stationery with a re-adherable strip of adhesive on the back, designed for temporarily attaching notes to documents to other surfaces: walls, desks, computer displays, and so forth. Now available in a wide of colours, shapes and sizes. Post-it Brand are most commonly a 3-inch (76 mm) square, canary yellow in color. The term “Post-it” and the canary yellow color are trademarks of 3M.

It was invented by 3M’s Arthur Fry using an adhesive developed by a colleague, Dr Spencer Silver.

It the early 1970s, Arthur Fry was in search of a bookmark for his church hymnal that would neither fall out nor damage the hymnal. Fry noticed that a colleague at 3M, Dr Spencer Silver, had developed an adhesive in 1968 that was strong enough to stick to surfaces, but left no residue after removal and could be repositioned. Arthur Fry took some of Spencer Silver’s adhesive and applied it along the edge of a piece of paper. His church hymnal problem was solved! This is where he came up with the idea of sticky notes what you see today. Please feel free to speak to our friendly staff to make an enquiries about our Sticky Notes!
