3 Fun Sticky Note Ice Breakers

Sticky notes are great for writing down quick points to the remember, sending messages or organising folders and binders. Although, a new unique way to utilise sticky notes with your students or co-workers is to do some friendly ice breaker challenges. Here are our top three favourite ways to use sticky notes as ice breakers.

1. Two Truths, One Lie

This is a game which involves writing down two truths and one lie on the sticky note. Stick it to your forehead and have people guess which of the points is false. Another way to play this game is to have two groups write down two truths and one lie on a sticky note, put all the sticky notes in two piles and switch the piles between the teams. Then the two groups battle to determine which opposing sticky note belongs where. This is great as it involves teamwork, comedic deception and learning.

2. Celebrity Heads

Everyone knows the classic game of celebrity heads where you write a famous person’s name and stick it on your forehead so other people can guess. Sticky notes make it just that much easier to place the notes on your forehead! As a team exercise, this is fantastic as it gets people talking and bonding. Feel free confine the scope of the celebrity, for example, to famous Oscar winners.

3. Match Wars

Match wars involve having people write down five unique facts about themselves on sticky notes and providing the notes to the leader. The leader will then stick the notes on the wall and individuals have to match which fact they think belongs to which person. The person with the most matched facts wins. This is another quirky ice breaker that informs your co-workers or students about the rest of the group whilst also providing a sense of camaraderie and friendship.
